Branch and Assistant Branch Manager

Branch Manager

The Role

We recognise you are a Business Manager first and foremost and you are encouraged to treat your branch as if it were your own business. You will be responsible to maximising customer service, sales and profit through the recruitment, development, coaching and leadership of branch teams to enable them to deliver the very best service levels.

Your Career

Branch Managers

Some of our Branch Managers are qualified Dispensing Opticians and we really do value their clinical expertise. However, we would also consider applications from people who do not have this qualification but have some relevant and successful managerial experience. If you were interested in becoming clinically trained though, D&A could support you in gaining the Dispensing Optician qualification.

There are a variety of opportunities open to you at D&A to suit individual career aspirations. Through your annual Personal Development Review (PDR) we'll support you in whatever way we can to realise your potential. This may mean:

Alternatively you may want to pursue a clinical route. We will always endeavour to support you in achieving your ambitions.

Your Benefits

You can expect to enjoy a wide range of excellent benefits. Here is a flavour:

Your Training

When you first join D&A you will receive a friendly welcome into the business. We don't expect you to start at your branch straight away - instead you will spend time with your 'buddy manager' in their branch to learn about our Business philosophy.

The key to your success at D&A is the training and development you will receive. We offer a professional training programme for all Branch Managers for you to make a difference as quickly as possible.

Assistant Branch Manager

The Role

An Assistant Manager at D&A supports the Branch Manager in developing the branch team, ensuring branch standards are at their highest and customer service exceeds all expectations in order to maximise the profitability of the branch. The size of the branch will determine how varied your role as an Assistant Manager will be - but there's one thing that's guaranteed - this first step into management with D&A will be your first step on a successful career path.

Your Career

As with our Branch Managers, some of our Assistant Branch Managers may be clinically qualified as a Dispensing Optician. However this isn't essential. Because D&A are committed to your development, if this is an option you wish to pursue, we may be able to support your training to become a qualified Dispensing Optician.

Our Assistant Branch Managers have tailored individual career plans designed to match their career aspirations. Through the Personal Development Review (PDR) we'll help you achieve your goals.

This could mean progressing to a bigger branch where your responsibilities will grow, before eventually managing a branch of your own.
